Family Room Makeover

I'm excited to share a design project I recently did, helping a local mom give her family room a simple and stylish makeover. It was such a great experience working with her from start to finish!

After she shared the below photos with me to work off of, we discussed her different goals for the space. She wanted her kids to still have easy access to the games and toys in the room, but store them in a much more organized, concealed way. She also wanted the room to feel a bit more elevated in style by combining pieces she already owned with new decorative elements.

I went to work putting a custom design plan together for the room to include concept sketches and pulled products, heavily focusing on storage. Presenting my initial ideas were then followed by some back and forth to tweak and adjust the design until we landed on a plan she totally loved.

And without further ado, here are the after photos!

We've got a much more polished, relaxing family room!

My favorite additions in here are the cabinets and mirrors we added to each side of the fireplace. The cabinets hide the kids' items nicely and the mirrors created some depth in the room. The coffee table/ottoman was also a great find as it includes a removable top for extra storage.

The leather bins we ordered really helped to clean up the TV stand and added a pretty pop of white against the dark furniture. We were able to reuse her original cube storage bins to organize her corner nook. Beneath them, we included a dark storage tower with drawers.

The family is happy to enjoy their new and improved space together!
